Campaign Story

The Korovulbozor Pumping Station is located in the Bukhara region of the Republic of Uzbekistan and is part of the national water resource management system.

The station is managed by the Ministry of Water Resources and is scheduled for modernization under the Water Resources Development Concept of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020–2030 (approved by Presidential Decree No. UP-6024, dated July 10, 2020). The modernization aims to improve water supply efficiency and advance digital transformation in alignment with the United Nations Global Compact and the UN-Water Initiative.

The project is carried out under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, following this structure:

Financing → Design → Reconstruction → Operation → Transfer to Management

The facilities are handed over to the private partner for 10 years for operation and management.


FINANCIAL PARAMETERS:

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The project is being implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework by the specialized project company VODPROM, which is a water resource operator owned by the International Innovative Fund for Public-Private Partnerships “United Innovation Capital (UNICAP)

The initiative encompasses a comprehensive approach to digital transformation of Uzbekistan’s water resources by modernizing infrastructure, digitizing operations, and creating a unified situation room for monitoring and controlling both the infrastructure and water resources of Uzbekistan.


PILOT PROJECT:

The Korovulbozor Pumping Station is part of VODPROM’s pilot project involving the reconstruction and modernization of 12 irrigation system pumping stations across Uzbekistan’s major canals, including the Karshi, Amu-Bukhara, and Amu-Zang canals.

  • Number of Pumps: 104, with 61 pumps of 6 MW each and 43 pumps of 12 MW each
